Tattered Cloak is actively seeking new talent.  We are seeking writers and artists to join our family.  We publish creator owned material only.  We do both print on demand and digital services.  We would prefer whole creative teams (For Comics) but will try and pair you with an artist(this is not a guarantee).  Writers don’t fret because we are looking for short stories, short novels, and children’s books as well.  We are not looking for any specific genre, so feel free to submit whatever genre you would like.  We look forward to hearing from you.

HOW TO SUBMIT TO TATTERED CLOAK

Tattered Cloak only publishes creator-owned material. We do not contract creators; we’re only interested in publishing original content for which you would retain all rights. Please do not submit any work that utilizes already-existing characters—Image characters or otherwise—as they will automatically be declined.  Tattered Cloaks logo will appear on the front cover of all works.

WE DO NOT PAY PAGE RATES - Once again we publish creator owned material only.  We take a flat fee for printing, shipping and digital services.  It will then be the responsibility of the lead creator to determine the division of the remaining team members.

THINGS CAN CHANGE FROM THE PROPOSAL TO THE PRINTED PAGE – If the title of your book is awkward or unsellable, we might suggest that you change it.  Remember we are looking to sell your books, catchy titles always help.  We can also help do cover sketches, design logo’s, or redesign any part of your book.  HOWEVER, no changes will be made without your approval.

ARTISTS –We accept inking, penciling, coloring samples, and lettering.  Tattered Cloak will keep your art on file and when the time presents itself we will retain your services.  Once again though we do not pay page rates.  If your art is not kept on file we will inform you via email. 

 

WRITERS –We accept proposals only.  Please see the proposal requirements.  Do not send storyboards, full manuscripts, notes or scripts.  Anything other than the proposal requirements will be automatically declined.

 

PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. A brief cover letter summarizing your project.  Include Genre, Target audience, full color, black and white, Miniseries or ongoing story.  Make sure you put your contact information clearly on the page. Include your name, email address, phone number.  Submissions will be responded to via email.

2. A typed synopsis of your story.  The whole overall story, meaning beginning, middle and end.  Make sure you include everything.  We are not your audience, we want to know plot points spoilers etc.

3. If you have an artist attached to your work, please include an artwork submission as well.  REMEMBER, we are looking for full creative teams.We can try to find an artist for you, but it is NOT a guarantee.

4. If you are a writer that is looking at having your short story or novel published, we will do your cover art for you.  However you must state this in your proposal letter as well.

If something changes, you lose your artist, or something unforeseen happens, Tattered Cloak is to be notified immediately.

TATTERED CLOAK does not own any intellectual properties to your title.  Your title shall remain yours.
